I'm Back!

Sorry for being such a horrible person and not updating this blog in so long. Well school has kept me very busy, and I kept forgetting to update the blog....curse my horrible memory! Anyways I can't say much at the moment, I'll be off to bed in a few minutes so I must hurry! Here's my most recent poem. Enjoy!

My Protector

So young we both were when first we met
My first true friend
Growing up much faster than me
You became my protector so quickly

Keeping me safe
From the evil so near
Warming my heart
Once th evening was here
It was just so clear!

The love that I had for you
Was so very strong
It could truly be called
An "unbreakable bond"

You mean so much to me
So please, come back
Don't become just another memory
From my past...

Winners Announced!

I know...finally, right? I'm really sorry, I've been planning to announce the winners some weeks back, but i haven't had a steady internet connection, and couldn't even communicate with our judges. Hence, it was delayed. Anny way, enough about that- i know every one's dying to hear who the winners are (I should quite stalling!)
(Okay nevermind, More stalling)
We had so many talented entries for my first ever contest, I'm really glad it turned out successfully! It was really difficult to choose the winner, our judges really had a rough time deciding xD And yes, the poll is not working well, seeing how it's possible for some people to vote more than once. But any way, the winners are decided by d\judges, and that's how it was meant to be all a long.

The contestants who placed the top 3 were mostly judged on if their graphic grasped the concept of "Lolita" properly. Sooo *drum roll* Here's our top 3 contestants! :

1st Place: Resha

2nd Place: Chii

3rd Place: Aiko AND Sanami

Special Award: Mousee, for her amazingly unique and Lolita entry

All awards will be e-mailed to the winners, other participants will be e-mailed the participation award, and prizes will be sent in just a little while (You have to give me a little extra time to finish making them...xD)

Lolita Bash!

Yes! Raven Bloodstone is hosting it's first ever contest!

We're also hosting a bash, dedicated to (as you can read on the banner) Lolitas! How incredible is that? I always thought that a bash would be pretty fun, and if we add a popular theme like "lolita" them it could be even better. The detailed contest information isn't up at the moment, and i'm still trying to think it through myself. But I will be adding information about the bash we'll be having.

So Janavi here is posting all the info she can find (or wants to post xD) on Lolitas, while i'll try to provide something interactive like polls, contests, whatever. But I still don't have too many ideas, so suggestions are welcomed!
Also, since this is a first timer, we'll start out small. It matters how successful the whole thing is, and if it is, we'll add on to the bash~ :)

Hmm....well I guess this is all the information i'll be posting now. Be sure to check back soon again, we'll be posting lots of more info on what's to come!

(I'll try to send all linkage exchange's information on the contest, when I put it up. If you aren't a linkage exchange of R-B, go ahead and apply!) <33

The Lolita Style-Part 2

As Ruksi mentioned in the previous post we're having a Lolita Bash!!! So I will now continue describing some of the other Lolita styles (so people can understand Lolita better) and maybe posting other random stuff :3

Kodona (Another of my favorite styles)
In a way, Kodona is the guy's version of lolita. It is also called “Prince” in Japan . Typical male clothes such as trousers, knee socks, boots, long shirts, and jackets with long tails are all worn. Both guys and girls can wear this style. Dandy Is very similar to Kodona, but is a more grown-up style.

Dandy (Another of my favorites)

This is another male-type lolita style; the adult version of Kodona. Dandies often wear well-fit suits and vest - like a young man would wear in the early 19th century.

Wa Lolita

Wa-lolis wear a combination of Kimono styles and Lolita fashion. Often they wear simplified Kimono tops with a Lolita skirt. The Kimono Lolitas strive to be elegant and beautiful, and it shows in their behavior and language. Accessories include traditional wooden fans

Punk Lolita
Punk Lolitas (Pankurori) wear mainly red and black clothes that often have elaborate screenprinting. Buckles, safety pins, and torn clothes are common, giving them a deconstructed look.

Sweet Lolita
Sweet lolitas or Amalolis have a style that centers on attempting to look as cute and little-girlish as possible. They have lots of lace and ribbons, wear light colored clothes (such as white, pink, and baby blue), and often carry teddy bears.

Qi Lolita

Qi-lolis blend traditional Chinese style elements with Lolita style (like the Chinese version of Wa-Loli). They usually wear a traditional-looking Chinese top with a lolita skirt or something similar.

Black Lolitas (Kurorori)

This style crosses over with gothic lolita, but isn't as strong. The girls have minimal make-up and simpler hair styles. They wear mainly all black but tend to want a cuter image (like a dark version of Sweet lolita). Thier clothing is usually plain in texture, such as cotton and have no designs.

Okay so I am now den posting all the most important Lolita styles. Tomorrow (probably...) I will try to go on posting some manga/anime related to Lolita, also music, and anything else I can think off :D

The Lolita Style-Part 1

Well as of recently I have been very interested in the Japanese style of clothing called "Lolita" so much that I have decided to become a Lolita in both the lifestyle and fashion sense. So Ruksi has been asking me to make a post (or posts) about lolita and how much I love it ^^" I have finally gotten to doing it. I have no idea how many posts about this I will make but I'm sure it won't only be one post, or at least I hope not o.o" So now I will post a brief explanations of what Lolita is. *changes font color*

Lolita is a popular fashion trend among Japanese teenagers and young women. The style started as a youth subculture sometime around 1997-98 and became a well-established genre available in various boutiques and some major department stores by around 2001. It emphasizes Victorian-style girl's clothing and often aims to imitate the look of Victorian porcelain dolls. The girls often try to appear deliberately cute to the point of looking childish.

Okay so know lets move on to some of the types of lolita (since I wish to make this post longer x3)

Causal Lolita
Many western girls choose the casual lolita style because it is much easier to do and also less expensive. The clothes are usually very simple: A basic knee length skirt (sometimes paired with a petticoat), a T-shirt with a screen printed image or a cut sew from any of the well known brands, and simple make-up and hairstyles. In addition, one might carry a teddy bear or cute bag.

Classic Lolitas
Classic Lolitas or Curashikku have a more traditional Victorian style. Their clothes are light-colored and generally more mature-looking. Most of them pay close attention to details including manners and language. Not only the appearance, but also the behavior mimics the classical period. They are rather reserved, very polite, and talk as if they are in earlier times.

Country Lolitas
Country Lolitas are very similar to Classic Lolitas. In a way, they are a cross between Classic and Sweet. The dresses are often made from floral prints and they sometimes carry straw hats and small baskets filled with flowers.

Elegant Gothic Lolita (EGL)
EGL or Elegant Gothic Lolita is Mana's version of the lolita style. Many girls who wear this are fans of Mana or Malice Mizer. The style has a more fit, grown up feeling and often heavier make-up. The clothes are generally from Mana's clothing line Moite or other clothes that look like it (dark colors, goth-ish, some use of vinyl and other industrial type materials)

Gothic Lolita (One of my favorites styles)
Gothic Lolita (Gosuloli) clothes are black in color, or with a dark theme, but sometimes have a little white too. Makeup is usually dark so black eyeliner is typical and a pale complexion is preferred. Influenced by certain elements of western gothic fashion , this has probably become the most popular style within Lolita fashion and certainly the most recognized in the west. Accessories include hatboxes, handbags and other bags, sometimes in the shape of bats, coffins, and crucifixes.

I Will continue this next time!!!!! Who knows when that'll be xD Probably tomorrow or else Ruksi will kill me for sure ^^"
'Till then : D
